    GINGERBREAD HOUSE RECIPE TUTORIAL How To Cook That Ann Reardon - YouTube !!! English English Add subtitles/CC
    Welcome to How To Cook That, I'm Ann Reardon, and today we are going to make this beautiful
    gingerbread house complete with two storeys, lights inside this area, we've got lollies
    inside this half, a tree and there's even a little pond out the back. And also, yes
    we're doing a giveaway so you have a chance to win one of two of these Breville stand
    mixers and you can enter from wherever you are in the world, I'll put a link below to

    house moulds which is the mould that I'm going to use today to make this one. So click on

    So the first thing we need to do is make our dough and for that we need golden syrup, plain
    or all purpose flour, butter, brown sugar, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. And I
    had a lot of people asking last year can I leave out the ginger, yes you can you can
    change these spices completely they are just for flavour so make it how you want it to
    be.
    You can get all of the ingredient quantities on the howtocookthat.net website and I'll
    link you to that below. Add the spices, brown sugar and the butter
    into the bowl with the golden syrup. Mix those together on low speed until they
    are well combined, that will take just a couple of minutes.
    Then gradually add in the flour and mix until you have a smooth dough.
    Split your dough into three and set two of those aside. Then cut the one you have in
    half, then in half again. Then cut across those once more so that you're going to make
    eight even pieces of dough. Take two of the wedges and roll them into a ball. Cut each
    one of those in half again. Then add those little pieces onto four of your wedges so
    you end up with four bigger portions and two smaller ones. The two smaller ones are for
    the walls and the larger ones are for the roof. Just push them into the silicon mould
    pressing down using you hands to make sure you get right to the edges. Now if you don't
    have one of these moulds I'll also put a template on the website and if you're just using that
    you can just roll out the dough and cut around the template instead. Use the palm of your
    hand to flatten out the back so it's nice and smooth.
    Then slide that onto a baking tray and bake in the centre of the oven. Take the other
    two portions of dough and press them into the two end wall sections. We are going to
    make a larger house today so we are going to bake this three times so that's why we
    had the three portions of dough and then we are going to put it all together to make the
    one big house.
    When you are baking the second set, don't make one of the roof sections because we don't
    need one of them. We are going to use some of that dough to make a door instead. Then
    when you make the third one make all the walls and roof like we did the first time and use
    the leftover dough from the second one to make another door so we end up with two doors.
    Once they are baked and golden brown tip them out of the silicone mould and with set cut
    off the top of the end walls and then we also want the little triangles off the very top.
    So trim them off too so you end up with two little triangles and two rectangle walls there.
    And if you cut this while it's still hot it will be soft enough to cut, you may also need
    to straighten up the top edge of the side walls as well because sometimes that spreads
    a little bit in the oven and you want it to be straight. With your next set, tip it out
    and using the template trim one of the end walls to make it smaller, we will use this
    for the archway out the front.
    Then take one of the roof pieces and cut out two rectangles and this is for the roof of
    that archway section. So that it fits together nicely at the top you need to cut it on a
    downwards angle going inwards so that once it's cut it sits nicely together.
    If you want to you can also take a knife and cut out the windows and this is good if you
    want lights inside the house.
    So you should end up with all of these pieces plus
    To make the royal icing, which is kind of like the glue that holds the whole gingerbread
    house together, you need icing sugar, you need some powdered egg white or if you can't
    get that you can use the pavlova magic mixes and you need some water. And all you do is
    put it all into the bowl of your stand mixer ... noisy, noisy, noisy ... the egg white
    or I'm using the pavlova magic mix, a little bit of powder there, and the water. And then
    turn that on just on low. That looks good and then once that's looking like it's all
    moist then you can turn it up onto high speed. Beautiful.
    And that looks great, so see how it's just holding it's own shape there so when we pipe
    the sides of the gingerbread house it's all just going to hold together.
    Place some of the icing into a piping bag and use it to join these walls together for
    the two story part of the house. So you are joining an end wall that we cut the top off
    with another end wall. Two side walls, another two end walls and another two side walls.
    Run a teaspoon along to take off the excess icing and then leave them to dry overnight.
    If you are in a hurry you could use compound chocolate to join these instead so you don't
    have to wait overnight.
    I don't want a window on the second story of this one but I accidentally cut it out
    already so I am just going to fill that one in because that is where the roof slope join
    will be. Take about half of your icing mix and add
    in a little bit of colour to make it a creamy colour or you could make it pink or whatever
    colour you want your walls to be. Outline around the top half of the walls making
    sure you get into the bumps on the gingerbread and outline around the windows too.
    Add some water into the leftover coloured frosting and mix it until it is about this
    consistency, it should be about the thickness of honey.
    Spoon that onto the wall and spread it out all over the whole area, just like you're
    plastering it or rendering the outside of a house. And this is what the outline was
    needed for. It just stops the icing from running off the edges of the wall which means we can
    get a nice flat, even coating of the colour.
    For the bottom half of the wall I am going to use a brick texture mat and I got this
    one in a kids book - I'll put a link to that below as well.
    Pour some white chocolate on the top, then use a palette knife just to scrape it off
    so that the white chocolate is just down in the brick indents but not on the top. Let
    that set then spoon dark chocolate over the bottom half of the house or you could use
    milk chocolate whatever you prefer - I just love chocolate-coated gingerbread. Neaten
    up the edges and then add the bricks to the top, pressing down to make sure you've got
    rid of any air bubbles.
    Once it is set just peel the texture mat off and then cut the extra chocolate out of the
    windows and we have a nice brick wall.
    Turn the four roof pieces upside down and cover the backs and sides of them in chocolate
    and we want to do that with the little roof pieces for the archway as well. It is quite
    hard to ice the underside of the roof once it is in place on the house so doing it now
    will be a bit quicker and a bit neater.
    Pour the rest of the chocolate onto some non-stick paper and spread it out thinly, making sure
    you temper your chocolate if it has cocoa butter in to or you could use compound chocolate.

    difference between real chocolate and compound chocolate for you.
    Once it is starting to set run a pizza cutter along making straight lines and straight cuts
    so that we can make roof tiles. Now they don't have to be an exactly the same size because
    I want it to be a little bit rustic so just roughly cut them so they're all little rectangles.
    For the windows place some isomalt into a saucepan and just heat over high heat until
    it melts. Once it is melted pour it into the windows
    and make sure you have some foil underneath. Once they are cooled just peel them off and
    the isomalt will be solid and clear. You can also do this using sugar or melted candies
    but it doesn't work as well or last as long. So that you can see the difference some of
    the windows on the two storey one I'll do them out of sugar.
    Place then end wall and two side walls to one side of your board. So just lay them out
    how you want them to be. And then pipe some frosting along the joins going up two of the
    walls and along the base.
    Then lift up your pieces and put them into place.
    Add some more icing along the centre join and then put the end wall without the top
    window here with the finished side facing into the inside of the house that you've already
    done. Now you will need to put a cup or something
    inside for a little while just to support it. Cups are a good idea because they've go
    the handle sticking out so you can kind of lean that on the wall without the base of
    it touching the icing. Then add extra icing to the inside corner joins to strengthen them.
    Add frosting down one side and across the base and add in the next two storey wall and
    again you're going to need a cup to support that into place. Do the same on the opposite
    wall and then the end wall.
    And you'll need to leave those for about 30 minutes so that they're firm enough to take
    the cups out before we put our roof on.
    Add icing along the top of the wall and up one side and place one half of the roof into
    place. And then where it is meeting on the wall there add your little triangle for support.
    Add the other side of that roof. And then at the front you can add a tiny bit of gingerbread
    from one of the off-cuts to extend the roof around the join.
    Now for the second storey roof it's the same thing. Just pipe icing all the way around
    the top. Add one half of the roof into place then put icing across the top for the middle
    join and then add the other half. Support your roof while it sets so it doesn't slide
    off. You can use cups or you can use like spoons secured onto the counter with blu-tack
    like I've got here, whatever you need just to hold it gently in place until it's firm.
    Line up the front section and measure up where the triangle needs to sit and put it into
    place using some icing. Then to hide the joins on the front of the house I am using sour
    candy you could use licorice or whatever you have that is sort of in this long shape just
    to hide where the joins are.
    Add icing to top of the archway and to the base of it. And put it into place, put some
    icing on the top of the triangle and then add the roof for that section.
    Use your coloured icing just to neaten up the sides here and also neaten up any of the
    joins on the house where you can still see the gingerbread or if it looks a bit messy.
    For the roof tiles, to join them on, just add some chocolate and then just add the tiles
    going across, starting from the base and working your way up to the top of the house. You could
    use candy for this instead. When I am decorating a house with the kids each person just gets
    one side of the house and you can decorate it however you like. It's your house so just
    go crazy.
    For the front of the archway trim two candy canes so they are just a little curved at
    the top. And then cut them to the right height. Cut the third one to make the middle little
    bit of the archway and add them into place just using some icing. For the window sills
    take some cherry ripe and cut small pieces then add them to the base of the windows.
    Take some green soft candy I am using a mint leaf here, and cut out chunks from it and
    cut out triangles so that you are left with lots of little spiky bits so it looks a bit
    like a plant. Add that onto the wind sill just using a little bit of chocolate to attach
    it.
    For the Christmas lights roll a long snake of fondant and then add fruit Tic Tacs or
    other small candies evenly spacing them along. If you just use a little bit of water on the
    back of the candy it will make it stick to the fondant.
    Then drape those lights across the top of the house. Again just using a tiny bit of
    water to make the fondant stick. Add another string of lights to the other side and keep
    that going around the top of the house.
    Now for the garden. Melt some marshmallows in the microwave on high for about
    Pour in a cup of rice bubbles and stir it really well. Rice bubbles are the same as
    Rice Crispies, they are just called a different thing here in Australia.
    Then add another cup and stir that through and finally a third cup and stir that through
    and you'll get a nice sticky mixture like this.
    Add it to the ground on the side of the house, now if you wet your fingers it will stop it
    sticking to you. And then use it to hold two chocolate bars joined together for the tree
    trunk towards the back of the house. You can put it where you want, I just wanted mine
    at the back.
    And a t the back make a circle section as well, so leave a little down area for the
    pond if you want one of those too. So mound it up around the side and leave it in the
    middle. For the tree, make a big mound for the top of it and then smaller bits to go
    underneath so that it isn't totally flat on the bottom.
    On the single story part of the house, add some growing up the side of the wall like
    it's ivy and you can make it go up and around the window if you want. You can make it as
    crazy as you like.
    Take some milk chocolate and add it along the edge of the board and the garden all the
    way around. Then take some coconut and add green food colouring to make it look like
    grass. Add chocolate over the rest of the area and then sprinkle the coconut over the
    top to give a nice green grass area.
    Take some more chocolate and pipe it messily up and down the chocolate bar so it looks
    like bark. You can extend it down a bit to make it look like it's roots going into the
    grass as well as you want. Colour some white chocolate with oil-based
    food colouring or you could use coloured royal icing for this instead. And cover the tree
    parts completely.
    Also use it to cover the ivy that is growing on the side of the house. And I'm just using
    a clean paintbrush and just brushing it on. With the ivy section, once it is starting
    to set just dab it again with a paintbrush just to make it a little bit rougher and finer
    than the tree so it has a different texture.
    Once the top is set turn it over and make an indent for the trunk. Then add the smaller
    bits to the base so that it has a bit more of a rounded shape underneath instead of being
    flat. And add that into place.
    If you want lights inside put those in now, leaving the cord on the outside of course
    so we can turn them on and off. You may need to cut a tiny bit off the corner of the door
    to accommodate the cord coming out and then just put the door into place and you can hide
    that cord under the coconut. In the other half I want to add lots of chocolates
    instead of lights. I like it when you open up a gingerbread house and it has treats inside.
    Put some chocolate along the entrance and then add candies of your choice to make the
    path.
    Then make some blue jelly or jello just using the directions on the packet but only using
    half of the water that it says. And let it cool to room temperature and then pour it
    in to the pond.
    And then to finish it off all you need to do is sprinkle a little bit of icing sugar
    on it for snow. I like to use a tea strainer to do this because then you really control
    where it's going and how much you're getting. Not that it snows in Australia at Christmas
    time but because we see so many movies where it does at Christmas time snow we still kind
    of associate snowy Christmases with a nice Christmas.

    them now to fill those
    the final you wanna go ahead and put the middle finger over the whole and then
    hold the final
    and then slowly pour in the batter into the final making sure that you really
    have that whole

    make sure you don't get your finger in there and then you just wanna go and

    I'm *** *** The Hobbit House Giant Cupcake Cake - A Cupcake Addiction Lord of the Rings Tutorial - YouTube !!! English (United Kingdom) English (United Kingdom)
    Hello and welcome to Cupcake Addiction's Hobbit House Cake Tutorial where I'm going to be
    showing you how to make this awesome hobbit house cake from the Lord of the Rings franchise.
    We're going to be making this today using the giant cupcake mold. So those of you that
    follow my channel would know that I love coming up with new and inventive ways that you guys
    could use your giant cupcake molds that aren't necessarily just the standard giant cupcakes.
    Today's tutorial forms part of a collaboration with the Tastemade network, a bunch of partners
    involved with the network have teamed together to make this hobbit playlist for you. So if
    you hang around to the end of this tutorial, you're going to see a whole bunch of great
    ideas hobbit/ Lord of the Rings theme and inspired for all things sweet, savory and
    delicious. Tools and equipment that we will be using
    today, and there are quite a few of them: I've got a pizza cutter.
    A knife. A skewer or toothpick.
    I've got a paintbrush. I've got a couple of assorted plunge cutters.
    So you can use any sort of cutter you like and this is just going to be to give us a
    little bit of detail, but I've basically got
    ivy leaves. You can
    use any type of flower or any type of leaf you like.
    I've got a little bit of plain tap water. I've got some black writing icing. You can
    also use cookie icing or you can use black melted candy melts.
    I've got some cornflour in a shaker just for easy distribution.
    I've got my cake board and I will leave dimensions to that in the description box below and I've
    just got that resting today just on a cake decorators turntable. That's just to help
    me for ease of showing you guys what I'm doing. I've got a disposable piping bag and I've
    pre-filled that with some of our perfectly pipeable buttercream frosting in green. I
    will leave a link to that frosting recipe in the description box below.
    I've paired that today with a grass piping tip. So it doesn't matter what brand or what
    size, but the grass piping tip as you can see, basically has a whole lot of little holes
    in the end there and that's going to give us kind of like a string-y grass effect for
    the top of our hobbit house. I've got
    So I will leave all of the dimensions for those in the description box below.
    I've got fondant in various colors. Now the fondant colors that I've chosen today - I've
    gone with a really light latte, almost exactly the same color as my base to my giant cupcake.
    I've got a chocolate brown. I've got kind of a light slightly orange-y tinted brown.
    I've got a green, the same green that I've iced my cake board in today. I've got a little
    bit of gray. Now with the gray, I've just mixed
    that black all the way through. So I've almost got sort of like a bit of a gray marbled effect.
    That's just going to be for our stones on our paths. And I've got a very small amount
    of white, orange and yellow. I've got my giant cupcake. Now I've baked
    that using our giant cupcake basic series which is
    the giant chocolate cupcake case. You can see that I've made that today in that latte
    color. So once again, that's 90% white chocolate and
    to get that really lovely latte color. And I would suggest coloring your chocolate or
    making your case before you color your fondant to match because it's a little bit easier
    to get the correct color out of fondant than it is to get the correct color out of chocolate.

    As a bit of an added extra today, and these are really make my cake come to life, but
    they are purely optional, I've got a couple of hobbit figurines that I found on sale at
    the local toy store. So I've got a Gandalf and I've also got a Bilbo Baggins.
    Off to the side, I've also got a fondant rolling pin or a regular rolling pin will do.
    And I've got a little bit of melted white chocolate.
    So let's get started. Now the first thing that I'm going to do today
    is I'm going to attach that giant cupcake to this cake board. As I've mentioned, I've
    iced my cake board in green. I've got a tutorial showing you how to ice a cake board and I
    basically do this so that the cake board becomes part of the overall cake presentation. So
    we're going to bring some rocks, some plants and all sorts of things down on to this cake
    board and it almost becomes part of the cake. So to attach my giant cupcake, I'm just going
    to take a little bit of this green frosting. You don't need too much, and I'm going to
    put giant cupcake quite far towards the back of that cake board because I know that I want
    the path and I want my figurines and things at the front. So I'm just going to squeeze
    out just a nice little dollop. I'm going to pick up my giant cupcake, making sure that
    I've got my best side facing forward and I'm going to sit it right down on that buttercream
    frosting. The buttercream is going to help it sit in place. Perfect!
    The next thing that we're going to do is we're going to work with our latte-colored fondant
    and we're just going to roll that out nice and thin. Alright, whenever I roll out fondant,
    I like to take just a little bit of that cornflour and this is just going to be to stop my fondant
    from sticking. And I'm just going to squish my fondant down just to get it started, give
    it a little swipe around and we're going to roll that out nice and thin.
    Alright, once you've got your fondant rolled out nice and thin, you can see there I haven't
    gone too thick with it. I'm going to take that largest circle cookie cutter and I'm
    just going to cut...You really only want a semi-circle here so I'm just going to cut
    a little semi-circle out of it. Now I'm going to take that semi-circle and I'm just going
    to trim off this edge. You can see here why I love this pizza cutter. It just does such
    a beautiful straight cut. Perfect! So I've got a really neat semi-circle. Now
    we're going to take the cake, making sure you always know where the front of your board
    is and where going to just place this down on the buttercream frosting. If your buttercream
    frosting has started to form a little bit of a crust, this is our crumb coat after all,
    you can just take the back of the knife and just mass it up a little bit and that will
    just allow it to become sort of sticky again. If you get any frosting on your cake board,
    grab it off as quickly as you can. There's going to be a lot of details on this cake
    so I'm not too worried about the cake board. You can always put a plant or a leaf or something
    like that there. Now that I'm happy that frosting is nice and
    moist, I'm just going to place my little semi-circle right over the front just slightly overlapping
    with that cupcake case and you want to try and make sure that you can't see any of that
    green frosting peeking through. So once you're happy with the positioning, you just want
    to push it down so that it's coming in nice and flashed with that giant cupcake case and
    nice and flashed across the top. Beautiful! The beginnings!
    Now you want to take your chocolate browns, so the darkest brown that you're working with.
    So when you're rolling out your sausages, you don't actually want any cornflour on the
    board because you want them to have just a little bit of sticking ability. If it's too
    smooth, they're just going to slide around and they're not going to stick to the bench
    enough to roll out. One of the great things about this cake is it's a hobbit house. It's
    a house dug into the ground or into the side of a hill so it doesn't have to be completely
    spot on perfectly neat and it's only going to add to the look of the sort of rustic earthy
    overall finish of this cake. Alright, now I just want to check that that's
    going to be long enough so I'm just going to take my sausage and I'm just going to wrap
    it around. That's going to be plenty long enough. So what I want to do here is I'm going
    to take just sort of chunky end. I'm going to take my knife and just once again I'm just
    [rusting] up that icing a little bit because I know it's just crusted a tiny bit and that's
    going to allow this new little sausage-y fondant to stick properly, and then I'm going to take
    my fondant and then I'm going to start just here on one side of our little semi-circle
    but I'm going to leave just enough for another sausage to go across it there. I'm just going
    to line the edges of our cupcake. When you come around to this side, once again, leave
    that little bit of space and just cut off. Perfect!
    Now with the remaining piece of the sausage, I'm going to just edge that semi-circle. So
    I just want to roll it out a little bit more just to make sure it's going to be long enough.
    That will be fine. And then I want to come down just a fraction over the side there,
    all the way around that semi-circle, once again cutting off, perfect.
    Now before that fondant really starts to dry, I'm going to just use the front of my knife
    just to make some wood grainy little lines in it. That's just going to give it a little
    bit of texture. I'm doing this to make sure I don't pick any of that green frosting and
    drag it through your fondant. Beautiful! Now I'm just going to take one final little
    bit of that sausage and I'm just going to cut off just a small piece. I might just push
    this down a little bit just so it's not sticking out quite as much. I'm going to do the same
    little wood grainy marks in it while it's still on the bench here. And I want to put
    this down not quite coming all the way to the bottom of the semi-circle.
    So whenever you're attaching fondant to fondant, water is your best method of glue, just a
    little bit on the back. We're just going to use that to glue the section right at the
    center there. Wonderful! Now while you've got that dark chocolate fondant
    out, we also want to make a little tree stamp that's going to be growing out the top of
    the Bilbo Baggins hobbit house. So I'm just going to take that brown again and if you
    can at all, do this the day before, [do it at a first stop] so that it's got a fair bit
    of time to set. So you can see there I'm just rolling it into nice sort of a sausage. I'm
    going to put all little marks all over it again, sort of tree line marks, all the way
    around. Perfect! And then I'm just going to cut about an inch or so down and we're just
    going to sort of fork off one fork in that tree.
    The reason that I suggest you do this a little bit earlier is because if you've got a slightly
    dent of fondant or a slightly wetter fondant, it's going to take a little bit longer to
    dry. That is quite a thick piece of fondant there.
    Alright, so now you want to take your piping bag with your grass piping tip in it and we're
    going to basically cover the entire top of this house in grass. So whenever you use a
    grass piping tip, you just want to attach and pull it up. So as I'm pulling up, I'm
    sort of letting go at the same time so that I'm getting that really nice kind of grassy
    effect. Feel free to let it sort of splay out, get a bit messy, go over those brown
    edgings a little bit. It's only going to add to the authenticity.
    One tip I have for grass piping is not to have too much frosting in your piping bag.
    Grass piping takes a while. It's quite time-consuming. And if you've got too much frosting, you tend
    to get hot hands and the frosting at the end of the bag up here with my hands holding it
    will actually starts to melt so by the time you get to piping those grass out, it's kind
    of just a bit of marsh. Alright, so just spin your cake around, make
    sure you're happy that you've got a really nice covering of that grass. And I just want
    to...I notice on one side, I've got the grass coming over the sides and on the other side,
    I've neglected it a bit. I think it looks a lot better so I'm just going to make sure
    I've got a little bit of that grass just hanging over the edges there.
    Alright, so now you want to take your sort of medium brown color. So the color, that
    wasn't the lightest and that wasn't the darkest, that in between sort of orange-y brown that
    I mentioned. And I actually did that on the pudding just a little orange food coloring
    into my orange-y brown just to make it a little more orange-y and distinguish it a little
    bit better. So for this, I'm going to be making a little chimney and I'm also going to be
    making some windows. So we'll do the chimney first, just roll out
    a ball. I guess it's about the size of a ping-pong ball, and we just want to turn that it into
    a square. So as I'm rolling, I'm putting quite a lot of pressure on here just to make sure
    I've got no seams and then I'm just going to just fashion it into just a bit of a haphazard
    square shape. You can give it a little smack on the bench just to square those sides down.
    Beautiful! Now I'm just going to pinch with the corners and just make sure that it does
    actually look like it's kind of square-ish, it's not too round. Perfect! Now you want
    to take your knife and we're just going to use the back of the knife to make some sort
    of a brick indentations. So for the brick indentations, first of all
    I go all the way around to make sure that I've got relatively nice even lines on each
    side. Once you've got your side lines, you can go through and just make your little brick
    indentations. Beautiful! So you should have something looking sort of like this. I'm just
    going to do a little round circle to go on top. So just roll a little ball, push it down
    and you can grab back at a paintbrush or something along those line just to hollow out the little
    circle. [I supposed] the smoke gets out of the chimney, something like that, tiny little
    bit of water on the back there, stick it down to our chimney. Pop that over next to our
    tree. Now, with the remaining of your brown, you
    only once again put down a bit of cornflour and we're just going to roll that out nice
    and thin. Now I'm going to start with my largest circle cutter here, so the largest, not the
    one that we've cut the semi-circle out of but the largest of those other ones. I'm going
    to cut a nice little circle out of, like so. With this circle, I'm going to just go around
    and make almost like brick-like indentations around the sides of it. It doesn't matter
    how far you want to come in with this because we're going to be putting our little green
    door at the front of it anyway. Beautiful! Now with that one, a little bit of water on
    the back and then I'm going to turn the cake around to face me and then I'm going to stick
    it right in the middle sort of down low on the front almost touching the ground but not
    quite. Now you want to repeat that process exactly
    but we're going to do that with our next-sized cutter down. Now with these next-sized cutters
    down, you want to cut to because this is going to be our windows, once again with your little
    brick effect. These 2 little windows are going to go on either side just slightly at the
    top side of where we've got that. Once again, a little bit of water on the back of each,
    make sure they're even and on they go. Beautiful! Alright, so there we've got our door and our
    2 windows started. Now, you want to take your green fondant and
    we're just going to make the main door. So once again rolling it out. And this one I'm
    not going to make quite as thin because I do actually want this to stand out a little
    of that brown fondant. Alright, so you've used your
    to go the next size down. The next size down is going to be our door, so just cut that
    circle out and with the back of the knife, you want to put a nice quite firm indentations.
    Beautiful! A little bit of water on the back and that's going to get stuck right at the
    center of that main door piece, just like so.
    For the inside of the windows, I'm going to use a little bit of orange just to create
    sort of a warm inner glow effect. So you want to take your smallest cutter now, cut out
    2 circles, and this is going to be for the insides of our window, a little bit of water
    on the back, and pop them at the center of those
    house is starting to take shape. Now with those windows, I'm just going to
    use a little bit of this black writing icing just to put a little bit of detail on them
    and create just some window lines. I'm also going to edge that window in that black icing.
    Perfect! Now you want to take a little tiny bit of
    that yellow and we're just going to make a little doorknob for the front of our door.
    So for our little doorknob, just as simple as rolling a little circle and then I'm just
    going to sort of fashion it into a bit of an oval, then I'm going to take the back of
    that knife and just create a little knob on the end there. Use a bit of water to stick
    that on to the front of our door. I'm just going to push that in nice and firm so that
    that doorknob kind of fattens out a little bit and to make sure it's really nicely stuck
    on there. Beautiful! Now we can start getting on to some of the
    details. So you want to take your little tree that sticks out the top and we're going to
    place it either side. It doesn't really matter. I'm going to place mine on this side. And
    I'm actually going to just... Because it's quite thick and it's quite chunky, I'm just
    going to get my knife, push it in to the actual cake, just give it a twist. That's just going
    to gouge it just a little bit of a hole that you can go into, little bit of frosting on
    the bottom so it'll stick to the inside of that cake and in it goes. So I'm pushing that
    in a bit fair way so I've probably pushed it in half an inch or so just so that it's
    got enough support there, that's it's not going to fall out. And then you want to take
    your grass piping tip and we're just going to give it some grass on the top rather than
    giving it short grass. You want to kind of drag down so I'm not lifting the grass after
    each one, I'm just giving it sort of a, I guess, a droopy grass or a droopy tree leaf
    kind of effect. Beautiful! Now you want to take your little chimney and
    that one there we can just sit nicely into the opposite side, pushing that one quite
    away into that frosting because I want to make sure it's got a really nice stable support
    there. And once that chimney's in, I'm actually going to go around it with that grass piping
    tip just to sort of blend it in a little bit more, the same with tree, just a bit of grass
    just around the base of it. Beautiful! Alright, now we want to start adding some
    our detailings on the board and also just some extra little detailings on the front
    of the house there. So we're going to get our gray fondant and we're going to do some
    of our little stepping stones that lead up to the hobbit's house, some nice little stepping
    stones to welcome you in. Our little stepping stones is going to be really simple. I'm just
    going to roll out little circles. If you find your fondant is a bit sticky you
    can put just a little bit of cornflour on your hands just so that it's not going to
    stick to my hands and then I'm just going to flatten out those circle. We're going to
    make sorts of all different-sized haphazard little pieces of cobble stones, a little bit
    of water on the back, then we're going to line them up at the front of the house. Do
    make sure these are all different shapes and sizes because it's going to add to the authenticity.
    Alright, so that's our little cobble stone path done. And now I'm just going to do just
    a few different assorted little flowers and bushes and things around the place.
    So to do your bushes, you can just take some of that green fondant and make like almost
    little ball and then we can cover them with some of that grass piping tip and just take
    however much you like, however big you like your bush to be and this is a great time to
    cover up any mistakes that you've made, a little bit of water on the bottom there, down,
    take a bit of that grass piping tip and just give it a bit of texture. Also bear in mind
    when you're putting your bushes down, if you're going to have figurines, you want to make
    sure that you're leaving room for them to go somewhere. Don't place your little balls
    to close to the house or you're going to have trouble around all the different sides with
    them with that piping tip. Alright, so now I want to add a pop of color
    and this is where our orange and our yellow is going to come in, along with the little
    bit of that white. So I'm just going to create some little flowers using those plunge cutters,
    just in oranges and yellows just to sort of scatter around, put on some of those bushes,
    maybe put some on the roof and just give it a little bit of color and bring it to life.
    It's all a bit green at the moment. Alright, they're nice and thin for my yellow
    there and I'm just going to cut some different-sized blossoms using my plunge cutters. You basically
    just take your plunge cutters, cut it, give it a little squish from side to side, plunge
    it which puts the pattern into it, and then pop it out and out comes a beautifully cut
    flowers - really really simple. Cut out a couple of those. Alright and then you want
    to take your orange and we're just going to roll some tiny little balls to make some tiny
    little centers for those. So you can put tiny little dab of water on the center of each
    of your flowers and then just pop in a little bit of a ball of orange. Perfect! Now you
    can just take those little flowers and you can position them around the top of the house.
    You can position them into the little bushes, wherever you think you just want a little
    bit of color. Wonderful! So there's our little hobbit house. Now if
    you want to go and add some of those little ivy leaves or any other leaves around the
    top of the house you can. It's going to add a little bit more texture and a little bit
    more detail, but I'm really happy with that. Now I'm going to get my hobbit figurines and
    we're going to glue them to the board and that's going to set this cake off. It's going
    to look like a million dollars. So to stick these guys down, I'm just going to take some
    of that melted white chocolate and my skewer or my toothpick and I'm just going to put
    a nice little dollop of melted white chocolate on each of their feet, position them where
    I want them to go and I'm just going to hold them just for about
    seconds until that
    white chocolate becomes tucky and I know that they're going to stay, then again with Gandalf.
    So there you've got your gorgeous completed giant house hobbit giant cupcake, a really
    unique and really really cool take on a giant cupcake, absolutely perfect for any hobbit

    in vanilla buttercream and then I'm gonna covered then in the perfect emoji
    yellow fondant I'm cutting out the facial expressions using a template and
    placing them on the cakes I find using a template helpful because it's really
    straightforward and then you get all the components hang on I mean these images
    are pretty much famous so you can't make a difference face of claim that that's
    kisi bhi unke everybody knows what she looks like or is it like you know it's
    not someone look at output dropped 2k my monkey faces people love that question I
    may actually want me to say yes the answer is no I need would cause I was
    smart ass see about that I'm going to remove my for chocolate cakes from their
    pens and then a level them and cut them with a serrated knife in a ruler and
    then I'm gonna give them a credit coat and children in the fridge I cram Co
    like aids in order to
    to hold the crimes to the case of them when I returned to them in ice then
    there's no crimes in the final Co DOI MOT listing our cake among geez this Chu
    Kang images right there's the whole cake and then there's the slice of that whole
    cake

    of an inch thick and then I pick it up and lay it
    over my cake and they should a smooth out the top and Smith at besides being
    careful not to travel any air bubbles inside and working kind of quickly so
    that the funding doesn't stick to crash there is no bubble emoji face can have
    an air bubble in your emoji cake cracked head emoji so we want these cases in
    aces
    covered call for my jaffa cakes with yellow fun them different color fondness
    for all the different expressions like this expression you to smile I simply
    made myself a template by enlarging the emoji pictures on like a kinder to the
    sizes please that he's super on the appropriate color and trace along with
    my night mode that represents my skin tone there's no curly headed in Motegi
    excuse me know red-headed emoji oh you just added the Canadian banks only the
    second largest country in the local thank you

    emoji faces I have to be really careful to keep the right eyeball with the right
    eyebrow with the right mouth not I'm not doing an experiment I'm not creating new
    faces
    is so I start off with P hehe emoji that's one of my favs I'm never made
    that face in my life is that right but I use that emoji I happen to be kind of
    stochastic and that doesn't translate via text or email so windy here is my
    bestfriend because I can write anything is driving as I want and I just data and
    then people at all shes show kidding I'm going to keep my temple beside me while
    I assemble be cheeky emoji phase I didn't use the template to help set the
    pieces in place to make sure they're exactly in the right spot at the one
    invited me to hire two droopy gotta get it just right
    this is not frankenstein watching this is cheeky monkey

    hey guys it's only the welcome back to my cupcake addiction today it's all
    about a particular little pig that very popular and a house at the moment all I
    used to love watching Peppa Pig and then we've kind of had a bit of a decent
    sized break by now Jake small and we are watching Peppa Pig all the time this
    cake is Jake and anyone else that bear that loves Peppa Pig or has kids that
    are above that the things that you need to recreate your Peppa Pig cake I mean
    making the public health today so I do you think for sheet cakes or sponge
    cakes you can buy those for you can make myself and I'm gonna leave the
    dimensions that you need in the Description box below I'm also gonna
    leave the link to my famous buttercream frosting recipe below so I've got a
    batch of that and it went into sort of a pale yellow color i've got some candy
    mouth kids want and red and blue when I can eat any funded everything too
    technical for this cake and because Peppa Pig half thought of as a
    hand-drawn element to it we gonna hander elements using bags you need some sort
    of a board to put it on I'm gonna go with a green board because traditionally
    happens happens at the top of a hill that gonna kind of look like a graph and
    I've got a threat of danger and enough that factual let's get started up again
    a coffee cake using a serrated edge not gonna come across and you basically want
    to make a square so I'm just gonna call all of them out while so it's all the
    same size down in a nice square now gonna stop trusting up the light of a
    little bit of frosting onto my little display board and then my first layer of
    cake and then a little bit of trusting in the middle of them all the way to the
    top
    when your frosting make sure that you're trusting comes just a little bit too
    much out over those outside edges so that you get a really nice finishing
    you've got a gap between the layers when we go to even out the outside edge once
    you've got your last layer cake are you don't with the frosting on top of that
    just yet we're gonna go around and give back a bit of a crime which basically
    just means you trusting to capture any crumbs from a freshly cut edges and just
    on the sides not on the top yet to see one eye cream cart I work the spatula
    back and forth back and forward and I'm essentially pushing the frosting down to
    the cake but also lifting up the crimes and capturing them in that lovely layer
    of frosting all the way around the full size of your cake we derive from cut
    done now you can apply but that frosting to the top section I'm gonna build up
    the roof pitch of the top of a case
    perfect I'm gonna take two of my pieces to fit them side-by-side on talk a
    little bit more frosting and then apply another piece directly on top and a
    little frustrating and then I'll final piece of cake on top so this is what he
    did to get you in a crafting on you gonna carve the shape that you want in
    the center and coming down on a nice bangle as that one drop so I'm gonna let
    it fall into that little space once it's fallen into that little space shift at a
    little bit of rusting to glue it down so it doesn't try to follow your copy and
    then continued on the roof fractional fair and it goes into that little space
    they don't go too crazy on getting those slopes completely perfect because
    frosting is gonna cover all here so we're gonna just add another crime go to
    the top of the roof and then we can work a little bit I'm getting the shape
    trapped at the moment you only wanna cry because we need that frosting to be nice
    and fresh on the cake once we made a declaration to the decorations will
    stick gotten a little gap the whole feel free to take it a little bit of extra
    frosting I'm just gonna spend a minute just kind of moving off my father my I
    just so instead of looking like all these stuck together pieces it looks
    like one big sort of ass nude onepiece house at the tip here if you don't have
    one of these upsets bachelors they're amazingly great for cake decorating and
    I do actually recommended gonna make a lava cake to get one but if you don't
    have one you can use a ruler are you doing a lot of the smoothing you could
    use a not at all of that frosting off into the fridge that both Cardiff
    Rustington thought to set which will make your second credibility's yeah I'm
    gone to work on some of the details so we'll make a clean up in the fridge
    setting I have melted down my candy and stuff them into the black bag you having

    to make sure that you got enough space my windows gonna be out of roughly that

    case could you can make it as big earth small for the amount of kids that are
    coming to your body
    this one's going to serve maybe
    down to my piece of baking paper in a pot the
    Blue Square just a little small on that I think the actual windows gonna because
    I'm gonna have that white frame that's my first question you need ten of those

    in advance so when it comes to the day before the party all you gotta do is

    section gonna take out perfectly sized pieces of parchment paper baking paper
    place them in a larger pieces they don't make such a big myth take your red candy
    melt and I've kind of quite a generous tip if I don't really need to be too
    perfect to preside via cover the whole thing in red can you know you don't have
    to be too thin because you don't want them to crack on it goes relatively
    rapid enemy attack while that fact that out and you want to get everything over
    the edges of your nicely sized group sized piece of parchment paper
    the way at the edges in the corner off a little bit using the back of the spatula
    and working quickly here so that it doesn't stop the fed on you I'm just
    going to use just a very very top surrounded edge to just I get kind of
    dragged down through it and create almost like a roof shingle roof tile
    effect once again don't spend too much time on this
    the kids cake both of your roof it'll be fine now once again before it started to
    set slightly offset spatula and I'm just gonna pick up my piece of parchment
    and I'm just gonna drop down to a clean piece of parchment paper
    let that dry when it dries will be able to peel it off and it will be the
    perfect size shape and takes job you need two of those roof basis so you need
    to make another one now we have to do a dole the rather than getting a whole new
    book bag I just push Mike an email from the corner that every cop to the next
    corner of I can get to use out of it and then just a really really small find it
    so I can get a pretty precision in the corners of my daughter another piece of
    parchment paper and a Droid or if you having any trouble with dimensions print
    off a picture of Peppa Pig house from the internet about the same size as one

    measure it out perfectly beautiful because I know I'm getting you the
    opposite side of that dole the side that up against the parchment paper money

    making a decent effort just to try and make it up
    and it kinda the opportunity to fill in any gaps
    even okay copy you need to by trying to keep my edge is relatively shot will pop
    up when the phrase gotten me show you how to make

    the perfect time to roll out a lovestruck

    cream should definitely be
    a little bit fair so now I know that all my crime the trap I'm gonna put on
    a copious amount the buttercream frosting because I haven't completely
    frozen at butter cream frosting on the cake

    for cake decorating
    and it might specific UK grew up but I use this to get a really nice flat edge
    so I'm just gonna bring it around the outside scraping a little bit of getting
    a beautiful flat edge but be careful not to scrape

    after one last go around the side with a very clean
    palette not offset spatula I'm going to a very final dragon those little outside
    edges
    I'm really not apply any pressure at all I'm just really carefully just dragging

    as always I thanks very much for watching *** *** GINGERBREAD HOUSE RECIPE How To Cook That for Christmas - YouTube !!! English English Add subtitles/CC
    Welcome to how to cook that I am Ann Reardon And today I have a very exciting video for
    you, not only am I going to show you how to make this Christmas gingerbread house but
    you also have a chance to win my mixer. Well not my one I've got a new one for you of course.
    I have actually got four to give away and I'll tell you later in this video how you
    can win those. And there is also two bonus videos for you
    this week one is the enchanted gingerbread house and one is the dragons den you can watch
    both of those on the Breville Food Thinkers channel and I’ll link to that at the end
    of this one and in the description below. To make the gingerbread dough Preheat your
    oven to 170C or 340F And for your ingredients you'll need brown
    sugar, golden syrup or you can use treacle there instead, butter, spices and your flour.
    For all of the ingredient quantities in grams and ounces and cups head over to that Breville
    Food Thinkers website, I’ll put a link to that recipe in the description below this
    one. Now we want to add all the ingredients except
    for your flour into the bowl of our electric mixer. Now I always get asked what mixer do
    you have now I've actually got a Breville scraper mixer pro and I'll show you one of
    the things that I like best about this mixer in just one minute. Add our syrup. So one
    of the things I like best about this mixer is this scraper paddle what it does is while
    it is mixing it scrapes along the side of the bowl so you don;t have to stop and scrape
    it down. Set your mixer onto folding and keep it going for
    little timer on the front that you can use there.
    And then we want to add our flour into the mix. And mix it on low speed until it makes
    a nice dough. Now you don't want to put it on high speed because if you do that then
    it will add too much air to the dough and then it is going to rise in the oven.
    For this house I am using a silicone mold and I’ll link to where you can get that
    from in the description below as well. Take your dough and form a it into ball then
    cut it into quarters. Take 3 of those quarters and cut them in half so you’ve got
    pieces. Then take the remaining quarter, roll that
    into a ball and cut that into four and then add one of each of those to four of your other
    existing pieces. Use the two smaller bits of dough for the
    side walls and then the other dough for the larger wall and the roof. Now you are going
    to need to press the dough into the mold really firmly to make sure it gets into those tiny
    window sections and all the cracks. Be quite rough with it otherwise you'll get lots of
    air bubbles under the dough. Then to get the top flat tap it with the flat part of your
    hand and make sure the edges are straight so that the house sits nicely together once
    it is baked.
    Then place them onto trays and put them in the oven for
    minutes. Halfway through cooking
    baking swap the trays from top to bottom so they don't overcook.
    Once you take it out of the oven let it cool for about
    a wire rack and let it cool completely before decorating them. It will seem quite soft when
    you tip it out but it will get firmer as it cools.
    Next we want to melt some compound white chocolate, select the melt chocolate function on the
    microwave. in the microwave, dial it up to the right weight and press start.
    If you don’t have a Breville microwave then you can just put it in a normal microwave.

    sec stir and repeat the
    sec until its melted.
    Tip some chocolate into the mold and spread it out making sure you get it into those fine
    window lines. And the then tap it on the bench to get rid
    of any air bubbles as we can. Quickly add the gingerbread piece
    over the top and press it on gently. Wipe of any excess chocolate that has oozed
    out onto to edge because we still want it to have straight edges so we can join it together
    properly. Once that's set firmly just peel off the mold
    and you’re left with a beautiful looking wall, repeat that with the others walls and
    then for the door we are going to make that out of solid chocolate so just fill it up
    to the top tap it to get rid of any air bubbles and let it set.
    OK now to make our royal icing which is a bit like the glue which holds the whole thing
    together just add our packet mix and the amount of water it tells you which is
    bowl and then add it to your mixer and mix it on low to start with so it doesn't go everywhere
    and then we will turn it up to high after that. If you want to make it from scratch
    there is a recipe on the howtocookthat.net website and I'll link you to that below.
    Place the icing into a piping bag that's fitted with a round shaped nozzle shake it down to
    the bottom of the bag and twist the top to stop it all coming back out the top when you
    squeeze it. To assemble your house lay the walls out flat
    like this on your board then pipe a line of icing along where the base of the walls are
    going to sit remembering to leave a gap where the door is.
    Then pipe a line of icing on each side of the side walls, not too close to the edge
    because we don’t want too much to spill out the front.
    Lift up two walls and join them together, then add another wall and finally the last
    one. Wriggle them around to make sure they are all straight and joining properly and
    then them leave them for a few minutes for the joins to firm up.
    To decorate the roof we are going to cover it in a clamshell pattern. Start at one side
    at the top and then equally space semi-circles going across that top edge. Then starting
    from the edge of the next row pipe to the bottom of the previous semi-circle, loop down
    and then back up, down and up and repeat that all the way across. Repeat rows like that
    until you get the bottom. Now before it has a chance to dry place it
    into a container and pour hundreds and thousands all over it, then tip it upside down to shake
    off the excess. Take your mini m&m’s and use some royal
    icing to attach them in the spaces, you can just use random colours or you can put them
    in patterns in rows. Now before we put our roof on if you want
    to put something inside you need to do that now. That will do. Now take some icing and
    we want to put it down the supports on one side and across the top here and up the other
    side. Then take one side of your roof and place it on top like that.
    And while that's setting you may need to put something in place just to support it so that
    it doesn't slide off. Then take your icing and we need to pipe up
    like we did before and this time across the top of the roof. Up the side and across the
    other one. Then grab your other roof and pop that into
    place. And just hold it for a minute until it's ready to hold itself.
    Roll out some red fondant really thinly and cut a strip about a cm wide. Then add that
    to the front of your house to cover those joins where the two gingerbread house pieces
    are coming together. Then cut some more fondant and use that to add just under the roof join
    to make it look neat. Pipe dots of icing along the top, down the front edges and along the
    sides of your roof. Then use some royal icing to put your door
    into place. And now it's time to make our wreaths. Roll
    out some green fondant into a snake. Now you don't want this to be too thick, make it thinner
    than you want your wreath to be. And then join it to make a circle in the size you want
    it. Now we want to roll some really, really thin
    snakes of green. If you have a fondant extruder that will make this job much quicker but you
    can do it by hand. Take the thin snakes of green and layer them over your circle to make
    it look like a bushy wreath. You can make two of these, one for the front and one for
    the back of the house. To make your bow roll out some red fondant
    thinly, trim it to make a long, skinny rectangle. And then fold the two ends into the middle
    and bend them so that they are coming down like a ribbon would from a bow.
    Cut out a triangle from each end. Then roll a ball of red and add it to the middle.
    Use a little bit of water to dampen the back, lift it up and add it to your wreath.
    Then add some little silver decoration balls onto it.
    Now for the windows we want to make it look like candy canes. So roll out a snake of white.
    And then using a pizza cutter cut one thick and two skinny strips of red and add them
    to the white. Then roll it out until it is the desired thickness that you want to go
    around your windows. And twist it as you roll to get that candy cane look.
    Then use a little bit of water to dampen the fondant on one side of it and add it around
    the top of your window and trim to size. Repeat that on all of your windows.
    To make the wooden window sills, take some brown fondant and roll it out thickly and
    then cut that into a strip. Use the tip of your knife to make a wooden
    pattern indent in the top of your fondant and then take slices the width of your windows
    and put them into place. For those little bushes out the front we are
    going to use mint leaves. Just cut off the base of them so that they will stand up. And
    make them different sizes so it looks more realistic. Now for our Christmas tree. Roll
    out a long snake of green fondant and then roll it flat into a strip. Use your pizza
    cutter to straighten it out and then wrap it around the base of the ice cream cone.
    And as you come to the first join, use your scissors to make little cuts in and some can
    be deeper than others, you can just give it a bit of variation there. And you can space
    some unevenly as well. Continue to cut it and wrap it, overlapping
    each layer so that you can't see the cone. When you get near the top add some green over
    the point to cover it and then wrap the strip around to the top. Squeeze it at the top to
    make a point and to make it stick together. Then add some of your soft sugar pearls around
    just to decorate it, just gently press them into the fondant.
    Cover your cake board in royal icing and then add your mint leave bushes into place around
    the base of your house. Then sprinkle the whole thing with icing sugar to make it look
    like snow. I like to use a tea infuser for this because it's just the right size and
    it lets you shake a thin layer over it without getting it everywhere.
    Take some red and green smarties in a bag, crush them up using your roiling pin, just
    hit them well. Define an area where you want your path to be and sprinkle on the broken
    smarties. Add your tree into place and put a little
    bit of icing for snow on the top of that one too.
