Today we are going to look at how to make a Thomas the Tank Engine face out of fondant.
If you don't know how to color fondant, just look back at the other videos on this channel,
and you will see all the instructions or go to howtocookthat.net for more information.
The face is usually what lets most of the Thomas cakes down, because it's very hard
to make out of buttercream, so you need to use your fondant. First of all roll it out.
The size of the circle that you want depends on the size of the cake, so you'll have to
measure how round your cake is and do one the same size. Then cut out a circle for the
face, take away the extra fondant. Then we want to make a nose, roll it into
a ball, and then make it more teardrop-shaped. You want to make it slightly smaller than
the nose is going to be in reality, because what we are going to do is put all of the
features on this side of the fondant, and then flip it over. Then pop that there in
the middle. The next you can see that it goes the whole
thing is raised at the top there; so to do that we are going to roll some more fondant
out, cut it like that, pop that one on keeping the eye socket tops round and aligned with
each other. There like that. And then we can just trim off the excess. Now under his eyes
