beans d hi I'm Stephanie George scheme joybaking dot com today we're going to make a simplechocolate cake and this is what it looks like we have two layers up a soft and moist chocolatecake and then we're gonna fill it and frostit with a chocolate frosting sought to start preheat your oven to 350degrees Fahrenheit which is a degree Celsius and then you will need to nine-inch that's centimeter cake pans and mine have a body two-inch 5centimeter sides and then what we're gonna do is eitherlightly butter our pants or I'm just spring with the non-stick spray and then I like to line the bottom ofthe pan with the piece of parchment paper you don't have parchment paper then Iwould Potter and flower the paths and then really I called a simple chocolate cake as aspatter is really simple we don't need our electricmixer for this purchase gonna mix it by hand really it's just mixingall the ingredients together so I'm in a large bowl I have one andthree-quarter cocks which is two hundred forty five grams all-purpose flour me know there's a plain flour into thatI'm going to add two cops grams granulated whitesugar and then three-quarters of a cop

find mixer outside stew by hand thenwe're going to add one cop milliliters a vmail and you can use either fad or reduce fat whatever you have in-house and one cop up to under maleleaders up either you can just use water justtap water or coffee I'm using I have some coffeeleft over this morning so that's what I'm doing and I like if you like coffee then you you know that coffee and chocolate kindago together self right one do that and then we're notusing batter here reusing a flavorless oil half a copper mil leaders and youcan use like a vegetable a coroner canola safflower even a light olive oilwhatever you have and the good for both oil in the cake is it does give it a nice soft texturebut then if you want to refrigerate your cake it doesn't get hard like batteredus you know butter firms up in the fridge so your cake will get hard but thiscould still stay soft and then for flavoring I'm addingone-and-a-half teaspoons a pure vanilla extract and that's it so now on going to do is poor my way upinto my drying Simpana time and then to squeeze Skinner stirtogether it is as you can see really simple to make says one those kinda cakes if you wannamake it during the week you could just you know a couple hours before because you can the hardest part of thisbatter is measuring your ingredients and if you weigh them which I like to do and makes even lot easier so you can'tget this cake together and in the event and less than minutes not too bad can looks good now this will be this isquite thin this batter so don't go no worry aboutthat so it's close to be skeptic Qwikster you wanna make sure sunflower on the bond here and then take it cake pan and evenly divide your batter between to perhaps spoil heavy making just I probably yes the amount or what I'm gonna do if you have a scale which is a handy thing they have in yourkitchen up but I always like to do is way because sometimes I find not thataccurate ok way I know that they're gonna bacon thesame amount of time who actually I'm hold on so it's a good way of doing it so nowwe're just going to put them in the oven for somewherebetween and minutes I find right everybody's oven is different so Iwould check the slike a couple minutes before that because you don't want over bake them and thenthey'll be dry care chocolate cakes are done look gorgeous a toothpick inserted intothe center company will come a clean and then youcan just see they're just starting to pull away from the edges of the pan so now what we're going to do is justlet them cool on the wire rack in the pants for aboutabout minutes and then when we come back I'll show you how to take them out ofpants soon out to take ur cakes on the pan when I first like to do is take alittle Potter and then just slide it over a coolingrack so that way our cake won't stick name once you do that they take either and I for just aspatula just to make sure I know we did Teresapants but make sure it's not sticking and justtake around flip soma and peel off parchment paper and flip it on to our Greece track okay so now what we're going to do is letthose completely cool and when we come back we'll start ourchoco frosting so now for our chocolate frosting the first thing we need to do a smelterchocolate now you could do it in the microwave but I prefer to have a saucepan ofsimmering water and just put a your chocolate in a heatproof bowl overthat so you will need six ounces which is a hundred maybe grams up dark chocolate now you can usedepending on how sweet your frosting you know you like it you can use asemi-sweet you can use a bittersweet or you could even use it unsweetened chocolate %uh my personalpreference somewhat amusing today is I'm using for percent Coco which is kinda mean that semi-sweetnot quite a bittersweet so anywhere between sixty to seventy percent gave you not too sweet for frosting so keep proof bro schism he prove proof whole and just put that over your suspect nowuse a good quality chocolate one that you just like to eat on its own because I you want a really nice tastingnow frosting so I'm just gonna now that care X works not just so take it off the heat and then it's a little more so what I'mgoing to do is just let it sit until it cools downto room temperature and then we will make a frosting lookingfor chocolate frosting I'm just gonna makeit in the large bowl with Mike and make sure you could use your stand mixer ifyou have one so you will need one cop grams a batter either salted or unsaltedwhatever you like and have that at room temperature and then I'm just going to beat thatjust until nice and creamy and smooth K and next I'm going to add to cop says gramsof confectioners sugar you may know there is either powder I cincher and once you measure it then siftedbecause powdered sugar tense teva lots of lumpsknow I'm going to add that and then also perform a very I'm goingto add
I'm just gonna do this a little by handbecause once I start that mixer tends to come tofly up in your face and then what we're going to do was justbeat this to get a little a ring to it so it tiltsnice n fluffy can looks good and so on our lastly I'mjust gonna put in that melted chocolate and make sure to letthat really cool down because if we put heart right now to chocolate in therewere going to get soup which we don't want sell school that down so now I'm just goingto beat it now start on low speed and then increaseit to medium-high just until it's really nice and lightand fluffy and I use has a nice shine to it so probably you know maybe minutes okay there we have it and that look gorgeous and tastes reallygood too okay so that's what you're looking for ok Bachmann creamy and smooth and just just wonderful so what I would dois just clean up and when we come back I'll show you howto frost a cake for okay so now already support one I've your layers on either like a cakehad a stellar just a plate and I would say maybe Cup or so eyeballing depends how much you like a lot offrosting in your middle layer I tend to just spirit yeah I'm just use in an officeespecially you just use a knife for this spirited and take your second layer and make surewhen you do this say your cakes have called off because otherwise chillin up melt in yourfrosting make your cake is still warm K so now we're just going to for us okay so when you do this I usually justput the frosting on the top and then I just take it and go down the sides remember thisisn't were it's just like an everyday cake doesn'thave to be really fancy are that's kind of how I do it just back for us and just work your way around the cake snow just shop Tom early I like to leave this I don't like to get too fancy I'm notpiping or anything I just kinda in just go back and forth incoming get apattern that you like you can kinda on the sides getting allfancy here whatever you want but I'm kinda happy with their and ifyou wanted you put some sprinkles if it's for the kids a birthday cake sprinkles on top and then if youwant a clean up the sides just take a paper town justrun it around to clean it out but you know I'm prettyhappy with that great I mean she's such an easy cake to makeand it's so good so let's kind a slice song and take aknife and just and then if you want a cleancut you can wipe off knife between cuts so set put it this way today doesn't that look gorgeous I just lobsthere at like two different in the colored really dark chocolate ifthe cake and the like color process i'd flop big fan chocolate cake so anywaysstocks have a little bit thats it's really nice the cake is really soft very moist nice chocolate flavor andthen of course the on kinda fudgy chocolate frosting really nice great thing about this youcan keep it at room temperature or I tendedstore in Cape just because I like the frosting to get kind of hard so I would say in all three to five days at least so enjoy and until next time Stephanie horse cave joy baking dot combeans dunes d
