I haven't even this temple cookiescupcakes and cardio doc come we have another Christmas video for youtoday today wanna be showing you how to make this surprise inside a verticalstripe inside your cake so it's got a lot ofsteps to it but it's pretty simple looks a little bit tricky but i wanna talk youthrough it and show you how to do it so let's getstarted so the ingredients to make the cake we're going to need 8 eighth refusing two cups all-purposeflour
aqui half a cup of milk 2 teaspoons oflemon juice
teaspoon ofsalt and then we're going to be using thesepin these like little peppermint candies some red andgreen gumdrops and then you're gonna need avote between four to six cups a whipping cream well and I've got some a del pais downhere to read in green for the seasonal colors and then what you're also going to needto have prepared ahead of time is an 8 inch cake and I'm going to use away to the milic so I have my stand mixerfitted with my whisk attachment I'm going to put my eggs into this andthen I'm going to whisk it on high until it's nice in late and quite fluffy and well other whiskingI'm going to heat my milk up I'm probably be for about a minute and ahalf for two minutes until the milk is really hot some not put the mixer on slowly add thelemon juice and heat up the milk so the 80s are nice and fluffy now andI'm going to add in the sugar and they've heated up themilken it's nice and hot so it's going to pour the sugar in andthen I'm going to put it back on too high and at will well it's on medium I'm going to add themilk and then I'll put it back up too high to let it and re mix completely now because I'm using this for Christmascake I'm going to be making my batter green so mistaking my Merkelurged element to squeezing in a little bit into their to make it a niceChristmas green but if you're doing it for another typeof party or another season obviously you can change the color up or you can also just leave it like it iswithout any color so in a mix that all in and then also inthe next step my green batter is here and left it inthe stand because it will be easier to do the next step with it locked in place and what I'vegot in my so verbal here are is the flower and I'm putting in thebaking powder and salt and then using a whisk them is gonnawith get around to mix it and and then I'm going to just kinda I'veall about a third of the flour mixture am going to put it into the up creammixture here and then using a spatula I'm just going to afford it so I'm justgoing from down the side underneath and then bring it back up sothis is gradually going to thicken our cake batter here so it's going to make sure I get eachother third portions all mixed in together and whenyou're doing it you'll find that while you're staring you'll find some other flower piecescome up to the top and they'll break up and I'll just keep holding them back inand mix them all together so you wanna do this in the threedifferent parts and wanted got all the flour mixed mixed in we're going to put them ontoour trace so I have to jelly roll pans hearing from me and they're lined with wax paper and italso sprayed them with nonstick spray now the batter that we just made isenough for a double batch which is why have the two pans if you don't want to have as big a cakeroll is that we're going to be what we're going to make have all thoseingredients that I just told you about and then you can do one pan and set upto so I'm just going to I have all my division here and then I'm going to use an offset spatulato smooth it out and make sure my cakes are nice and flatnow they're going to bake in a preheatedoven at degrees and they're only gonna bake for about 10minutes they don't need long to bake but you wanna make sure that before youput them in that you flatten them out like this and thats they are nice and Smith so when I've done that I will be back to do the next step leather whip in creamin the stand mixer with the whisk attachment again I'm going to whip my cream up if youwant to add a little bit up icing sugar or granulated sure youcan to sweeten it up a bit but since the cakes probably gonna be so yeah I wasgoing to not put in you that in but I am going to put in red once I getit nice and thick someone to start that mixing now mywhipping cream is nice and thick now and this is the point where you would addthe sugar if you want to add the sugar and I'm just going to squeeze some lovemy coloring in here who will come on a my little taller thanyou and I'm going to mix that up until it's the shaded red that i won if Iwanted to be darker red roses add more coloring and then I'll be ready to put onto thecake roll so what's the cake has cooled completely I've got it here still withthe are waxed paper underneath you can takeit off if you want to and that doesn't part doesn't really matter yet and what I've also marked is threedifferent stripes that we're going to be cutting so this these lines are toothpicks righthere are at three and a quarter inches thesecond one is at six and a half from this edge and this one is at nineand three quarters from this edge as well so I've got mynice long cake knife and I'm just going to kinda markedmyself the line here and continue on upgrade to the top and then I'm just going to cut it allthe way down and I'm going to repeat that with my sixline and also with my
and also have to do that with the secondcake slab as well so I have the initial cakeslab here cuts like you saw before and now I have my red better at my readon whipping cream that I've got here I'm just going to put I'm probably botha half a cup quarter a cup a whippingcream on members going to smooth out onto each wanna these layers and I'm trying to keep it probably a little tiny bit away from theedge that's not really a big deal if you get right up to the edge because lots ofthe whipping cream is going to squeeze out anyways I'm but just keeps alittle bit near fetus don't go all the way someone to repeat that with these otherones and with the other cakes lab to make it agent around a cake roll I'mgoing to be using four love these individual strips now thatlead means that there's going to be two extra ones which you can use in case a breakage oryou could also use in case you have wanna put a little bit extra oryou can even use them to wrap them around to make a larger cake base so what we dois this is the fun part where we get to start a rolling everything so we just start at the base %uh oneother cake straps trips here and we just startrolling through on a roll this all the way up and your cake should be nice and lightand it will just roll with you like this until you get all the way to the end andthen you to pick it up and then you're going to line up thatand that you just left with and at the start of the next one andjust keep rolling not like that so this reposition things hereso you can see how I'm gonna keep rolling soak up the WTO rules the two stripshere in the roll up here and I'm just going to keepgoing around here with this next one the third one and then the fourth whenit gets a little bit trickier just because it hardly gonna go aroundthat much it's kinda equal to the to the size of the actualcake there's not much rolling at the end sojust like that's we're going to roll that up now you want to wrap this crew prettytightly in saran wrap and then you're gonna put it into thefreezer in order for its to freeze solid because while you wannaget the next stuff ready you want this to be solid ordoesn't pop open on you when you start to decorate now we'regoing to assemble the cake so here I have my and I've cut it in half so I got toothin slices and on top of that I am going to putsome white buttercream now if you wanted to stick with thewhipping cream feel free to do that you just I like thebuttercream instead just because it's a bit more Ilove arm for some meant I guess you could say for the cake so I got my little layer here and now I'm going to take my cake roleand put my cake role right on top of their like that thinkshe's owner and then I'm going to cover this part here with the buttercream and then I'm going to put to the otherwhite her ability peace on top of this soanother we have the cake assembled what we're going to do is covered the whole entire thing in athin layer white buttercream so to finish off icingthe cake what I have here is my painting bagfitted with a for
