3D Baseball Cake from Cookies Cupcakes and Cardio
hi everybody this is Dan from cookiescupcakes in cardio doc com today we're going to be making abaseball themed cake it have a nice round baseball onthe top and the field underneath let's getstarted on this for the baseball cake we're going to beusing green buttercream vanilla cake batter now you can use anykind of cake batter that you want to we're going to use a 3d sports ball penset and that's by Wilton an open a link in the description boxwhere you can buy this yourself runs needed 8-inch square pan for thefield that the ball sits on and then our butter creams that arealready in piping bags with tips we're going to be using green with the which is a grass tip brown which is we're going to be using a number sixteenand a number and the Red we're going to beusing a number fourteen solovey cake ball set comes with twolove these domes and two movies rains and what you do isyou just set the Daum on top love the rain and then justbalance it so let's level and what you do is you keep them on abaking tray so that they don't fall over in the oven so I have my eight inch pan here nextline with some I'm waxed paper and is going to give ita quick spray to get it ready and then in order to scrap the bowls what I found that super handy is to laid down strips love waxed paper inside so I'm just going to criss cross themthis way and then puts to more intense a lil Bfour in total and this just prevents the cake fromsticking at all points you can also use more spray or even flowering your ballbut I just found that this is a super easy way to do this lenders give them a spray make sure theystay up results then you're ready for the batter so to fill it up with the batter reusinga scoop I'm just going to scoop about 8 scoopsand to hear make your dome I'm about two-thirdsfilled many do that with both are these domesand then whatever's leftover I'm gonna put into my age inch square pan we're going to take thedomes four about an our at degrees it takes quite a longtime because they're deep now this panel only take probably to minutes so it's up to you to check it to makesure it's done soda pop these into the oven went andgot them all filled and then I'll be back once the cakeshave a cool completely they're ready to start being iced and we're going to start with oursquare cake here I've got it on a cake for and we're just going to pile are green abuttercream onto it and I'm going to cover it upcompletely and the field will be mostly done sohappy cake covered in buttercream and what I've done is they've measured in from each side one inch and I justused a ruler to meet my points and to make a guideline for the baselinesomeone to take my brown butter cream and I'm going to havesteady pressure and I'm going to squeeze it along the side here and I'm just goingto go all the way to the other side and stop right there and then I'm goingto repeat that again someone to do that going around theentire cake after you have the dirt lines laid downwe're going to do the actual baseline and so we're justgoing to squeeze with my white icing with the number five tips and dothe exact same thing that I did with the brown so stop at the corner turn and then repeat all the way aroundnow for the bases were just going to fill in at three other corners with a regular square base are three basesare done so we're going to do home plate so it is going to come along here onthis end and over up to their and then straight up or straight across and then straight up from inside we feel that inso the next step is to cover the entire green portion of the cake with their green buttercream with the the grass tip on it see is going tosqueeze in gently pull away and line that the entire cake everything that's green with the grasstip someone to go ahead and do that to take a while so I won't bore you withthat information with watching that so I'll be back when I've got it covered say cake should look something like thiswhen all the grass is done and I just went around the edges at thebottom and added a little bit more grass to as a border next we're going to work on the actualbaseball so I have the two domes are the baseball cut in level so they're nice and flat wherethey're going to meet and I'm going to cover
this one in them white buttercream thatI have with just some extra stuff just gonna cover that like that and whatthat's going to do is just going to make it easier when I put it onto the fieldso I don't have to worry about getting I might tip down so low soit's just going to give me a little bit have a base coatthere so now I'm also going to need to have this middle part covered here someone to provide this is going to beare is going to provide the the kinda the glue that's going to stickthe two halves other baseball together so to put theyear cakes on to hear what I'm going to dothem going to take my half but has the icing on the bottom and won a flip it upside down and placeit into the center and then my other half that had theicing on the top a bit turn it upside down andplace it on top %uh the first one so having aball on top of the cake is little bit unstable so in order to make it stablewhat we use is a cake towel so many cake my caketowel and is going to push it right throughthe center of the ball and it's going to go all the way throughto the cake board at the bottom obviously we can't leave it like that sowilling to take a edible marker and just mark of where the cake meets the doubt where the act top of the cakemeets the towel I'm going to use my knife to cut to sizeso just twisted of and then cut its to the on proper like I got the Delta size so now we'll goback inside here now to push it down all the way just use the other half that you cut off and justto push it so it's not poking out over top so you have a nice flat ballnow the ball is stabilized I'm going to use rested my white buttercream just toprovide a thin layer on the two-hop next up once the ball iscovered we're going to take a toothpick and what I'm going to do is and is goingto sketch the path that the down stitches will follow so just kinda wide in that one and itcomes down to narrow and then it goes back to why and theydon't actually meets a mistrial watch here and come back around and then up and back to meet over here so now I'm going to sketch are going topipe with my red the stitches now I'm going to start on piping the stitches someone to startwith my reading I'm going to squeeze a red star and thenlater switched my white so I'm going to follow my it my little sketch that I put around the ballin order to lay out where I want the stitches to go some just going to repeat this patternall the way around the little first an area that I sketchedout after the guide for the stitches laid out what we're going to do is on each redstitch we're going to added two more on eachside so this is going to give the stitch look I'm going to do this on each up the red dots all the wayaround the cake to finish off the cake all we need to dois cover up the entire rest up the cakewith the a white and we're just continuing onwith that started I'm just going to cover the entire thingjust like this so there you go everybody how todecorate a baseball cake I hope you enjoyed this sport themetutorial today leave me a comment below about what is your favorite sport andmaybe I'll make it into a cake coming up soon thanks for watchingremember to subscribe to the channel: and make sure you check this out on allover social media sites which are linked in the Description box below see younext time
