Fondant Christmas tree tutorial version 2 decorated cake topper Decorating How To Tutorial
English (United Kingdom) English (United Kingdom) This is the second fondant christmas tree video, it's going to be very similar to the first one But we will try make this second one a little bit quicker So, taking a ball of fondant We are going to roll it into a cone shape, exactly the same as we did in the other video And again we are going to stick to using tear drop shapes to fill our tree This one you can do in an assortment of sizes So literally just a tear drop to stick to the tree, if you think it's a bit big just take it down a size So to make a fondant tear drop, start with a ball and then at one side press in with your finger And roll like so to create the tear drop shape Then stick it on with a little bit of water to the bottom of the tree and then you just keep going all the way round and we are literally just going to keep doing this So it's very similar to how we did the other one, so overlap it over the ones below and try to place it between the other two tear drops You don't have to keep them all the same level, you could put one a little bit higher up or one a little bit lower, it's entirely up to you what you want it to look like And again just keep going all the way around and up until you have filled in all the gaps of the tree So you can see here I have got quite a bit further and have put it on some grease proof paper so that I can move it round easily for the top bits, it's just doing the same again as we have all the way up rolling a fondant tear drop and giving them a long tail bit So that when we stick it on it comes to just over the underneath cone shape we have So you will see my tear drops are on in no specific order, just placed randomly overlapping each other, some higher, some lower, some bigger, some smaller If you like it like that you could leave it as it is, or if you prefer you can put some decorations on so I have just a tiny bit of yellow fondant that I am going to roll but keep it quite thick and I am just going to cheat for the star and use a cutter. So I have a star cutter here that I am just going to push through my icing, then push that through with the back of a paint brush if it's a little bit pointy for what you want, for example you might want a cute star just push the corners in a little bit at each point to attach it to the tree I am just going to use a cocktail stick, but obviously if you want it to be edible use a piece of spaghetti or something that is edible, not a cocktail stick like I am doing Then push that in to the center, trying to not squash your fondant tree and make sure the stick is covered so that you cannot see it next just add a little bit of water to the top of the stick and push the star onto the stick like so Then what I am going to do is just roll some little fondant balls and do these in whatever colour you want, and we are literally just going to stick them to our fondant christmas tree it's up to you what size to use, and put them on the end of your tear drop shapes, or if you want you could try squeeze them between the two if you use a few different colors it looks quite nice And I am just going to keep going around the tree like that until I have enough to fill the fondant Christmas tree Okay, so here we have added the baubles and now I am going to take another colour that I will roll out really thin to add to the tree as fondant tincil or string rather then worrying about having a really long piece, what I will do is I will put it in between the bits of the leaves, so i will start at the sides here push it up there and bring it round to a loop to about there i think So I have put one little loop in there and I will just keep going and putting loops throughout So we will start from up here this time see if we can bring it round and just keep placing little loops all around your fondant christmas tree cake topper anywhere you feel needs a little extra decoration So this is mine finished, I am not sure how well you can see that in the camera so I will put a picture up Thank you for watching :) If you liked this video and would like to see more, please click on the images of the videos suggested Also please do subscribe to my channel using the button at the bottom right hand side of the screen You can also visit my Facebook page and my cake website to see more of my cakes and ideas
